Van Oostrum is a familiar name, with his two brothers, Nigel & Devon, both being involved with various junior and senior National Team programmes for many years. Sam can play too – recently suiting up for the England Under-17s in Cherbourg, while leading his Sheffield Junior Saints side to the Final Fours for three years running.
