The Hoopsfix All-Star Classic returned for its seventh year in 2021 – taking place with extra caution during the COVID-19 pandemic before lockdown restrictions had been completely lifted.

No fans were allowed, whilst the line up was reduced to just an Under-19 Men and Under-19 Women’s game, along with dunk contest and 3-point shootout.

With the majority of suitable venues in London not taking external bookings, the event moved to Battersea Sports Centre for the first time.

The entire day was live streamed to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and for the first time, Twitch.

3-Point Shootout

Alex Distras was crowned the second-ever 3-Point Shoot Out champion at the 2021 Hoopsfix All-Star Classic. The Augustana University commit opened the contest with a best score of 16 points before his final round effort of 13 was enough to beat Sam Grant and Katie Januszewska.

Distras hit three of five money-balls in his first round with a run of six straight makes across the third and fourth racks. His score of 16 was matched by Januszewska, who was aiming to become the first female winner of the mixed contest.

Dunk Contest

Hensy Sako was crowned Dunk Contest champion at the 2021 Hoopsfix All-Star Classic after overcoming Veron Eze in the final.

Sako trailed Eze by four points after the first dunk in the final round and needed a score of 27 to surpass his rival’s overall score of 49. The 19-year-old duly delivered with his final attempt landing the contest’s highest score with 29 points for a dunk over not one, but two players.

Under-19 Women’s Game

Team White led from start to finish as they claimed a 81-76 victory over Team Black.

Cameron Taylor-Willis led the way with 17 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals with Molly James adding 13 points in the win in London, but they had to repel a late fightback having led by as many as 19 points in the contest.

Team Black were paced by a 18-point, 17-rebound double-double from Isi Ozzy-Momodu as they closed the gap to three points inside the final minute.

Under-19 Men’s Game

Team Black ran out convincing winners as they defeated Team White 115-70 in the Under-19 Men’s game at the Hoopsfix All-Star Classic, on Saturday.

Great Osobor made a 7-of-7 start from the field to finish with a game-high 20 points with Latrell Maitland adding 16 points as one of five other players also in double figures at the Battersea Sports Centre in London.
