The inaugural Hoopsfix All-Star Classic took place on Sunday June 15th at Brunel University in West London.

Selling out weeks in advance, the event featured an Under-16 game, and Under-26 game, along with an invite-only dunk contest featuring some of the best dunkers from across the UK.

Matthew Bryan-Amaning had 28 points – including three clutch free throws – in an MVP performance as Team White survived a late Team Black rally to take the Under-26 All-Star game 87-85.

Bryan-Amaning also 10 rebounds, three assists, three steals and countless highlight reel plays as he proved the difference between two well-matched sides who displayed the depth of British basketball talent.

Orlan Jackman finished with a game-high 31 points for Team Black and Dan Clark had 19 points and eight rebounds while Myles Hesson had a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double and the win.

Team White led by as many as 13 in the final quarter but were made to sweat late on as Team Black rallied to make it a one-point game with 15 seconds to play before Bryan-Amaning iced the win from the line.

Meanwhile, in the Under-16 game, Team Black came up big in the third quarter to recover from a slow start and triumph 76-68.

MVP Jelani Watson-Gayle was the catalyst on both ends of the floor as Team Black outscored their opponents 25-13 in the third period to take control of the game having previously looked second best.

It was Myles Hesson who claimed the dunk contest crown, showing his athleticis whilst beating off stiff competition from the likes of Andrew Wilding, Liam Ely,, Rob Gilchrist, and Joel Henry.

Supporters of the event were ESPN Player,, Molten, Amaechi Performance Systems, Reach & Teach, Sportserve, 5or6, Always Ballin’, Let Me Play, Wilkie TV and Nando’s.
