The Hoopsfix All-Star Classic returned for its eighth year in 2022, in front of a record junior crowd at the time of 1500, at a new venue, Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.

Welcoming back fans for the first time since 2019, the hunger for it was evident, once again having an Under-19 Men and Under-19 Women’s game, along with dunk contest and 3-point shootout.

The entire day was live streamed online to an audience of tens of thousands.

Foot Locker 3-Point Shootout

Quinn Ellis was crowned the third-ever 3-Point Shoot Out champion at the 2022 Hoopsfix All-Star Classic.

The Italy-based guard produced a score of 18 to beat Katie Januszewska and Anna Nevison in the final to top the third edition of the mixed gender contest and follow Rhys Sundimalt and Alex Distras as winners.

Foot Locker Dunk Contest

Charles Okafor edged out Sheffield teammate Declan Kom for the Foot Locker Dunk Contest title.

The athletic forward produced a final score of 74 in the final after surpassing the total of 72 set by Kom.

Kayne Henry, Joel Henry, Amin Adamu and the 2021 Dunk Contest winner Hensy Sako were the four judges in the contest as six participants battled it out in front of 1500 fans at Crystal Palace.

Okafor and Kom both impressed with perfect scores in the second of their two opening round dunks with Simeon Perry pushed into third place, while Bryan Akanmu and Marcus Myen King-Danchie separated by two points. Chudi Dioramma stepped up as a late replacement for Kane Daley.

Under-19 Women’s Game

Team White were victorious in the Under-19 Women’s game at the 2022 Hoopsfix All-Star Classic after taking a 79-61 victory over Team Black.

Issy Bunyan was named MVP in front of 1500 fans after finishing with 14 points, six rebounds and two steals in just 16 minutes of action having played a key role in the pivotal run in the third quarter.

There was another strong performance from Isi Ozzy-Momdou with 15 points to lead the team in scoring with Maisie Evison and Katie Januszewska also in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respecitvely.
